P/1B Asher Nobles Named FCB Athlete of the Week for Mar. 23

WETUMPKA, Ala. - Pitcher & First Baseman Asher Nobles has been selected as the First Community Bank Athlete of the Week for the week of March. 23. Nobles selection comes off a week that saw the Indians win two games, first on Tuesday vs Prattville and Thursday vs Beauregard. Nobles started the game on the mound in the latter, earning his 4th win of the season, improving his record to 4-0. He pitched five innings, allowing no runs and just four hits. He walked two and struck out five in the Indains 4-0 victory over the Beauregard Hornets. At the plate in that same game, Nobles went 1-2 at the plate and picked up a sacrifice fly RBI. His one hit was an double, and knocked a run home with the aformentioned sac fly in the bottom of the third inning, extending the black & gold's lead to 3 runs. In Tuesday's game against the #7 ranked Prattville Lions, Nobles went 1-3 with another double. This time, he picked up an RBI with his double in the bottom of the sixth, giving the Indians another insurance run in a 6-2 victory. Nobles and the Indians will be back in action later this week at the Hoover tournament, taking on Tuscaloosa County at 4:30 PM and Vestavia Hills at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 25.
