Soccer's Ella Duffee Named FCB Athlete of the Week for Feb. 23

WETUMPKA, Ala. -- Girls' soccer's Ella Duffee has been selected as the First Community Bank Athlete of the Week for February 23. Duffee's selection comes off a week where she achieved a career milestone of 100 goals. The Junior helped hoist the Indians to two victories last week, a 10-0 victory over Jemison on Thursday and a 14-0 victory over area opponent Percy Julian on Friday. Duffee led the team in scoring both nights, notching five goals against Jemison and another six during Friday's win over the Pheonix. As a junior, Duffee has been selected to lead the Indians as a captain alongside Reagan Christensen. The Indians girls' soccer team currently posts a record 4-1-2 and sits atop the 6A area 4 table. Duffee and the Indians will be back in action Tuesday, Feb. 24 at Alabama Christian Academy.
